Bio
Who am I? Well, if you think the measure of a candidate is in the length of his list of credentials then you’d be disappointed. However, Tommy Douglas was right when he said that if you’re a mouse, it makes no sense to elect a cat and switching from a black cat to a white one is not the answer. It has been and remains common to choose a politician based on their credentials, but if you are unhappy with how the responsibilities of government are being handled then, perhaps, it time to change how we choose the politicians.
I want to be chosen for what I stand for and I want to be judged based on how well I’ve lived-up to that commitment. I believe its bad when in times of prosperity there is only satisfaction with oneself and the way things are instead of a determination to use the present strength to prepare for an uncertain future. History is full of examples of this mistake. I also believe that when a government becomes overconfident, not only does it close its eyes but also its ears. Many people today are worried and frustrated and this leads to an upsurge in both ideas and in a willingness to take action. Sadly, the politicians and their advisors are not listening. This has to change.
My commitment to my constituents is:
- to in all things prepare for the future.
- to actively seek the input of concerned and knowlegeable citizens and to carefully consider it.
- to strive in all things for the fair and consistent application of principle rather than to bend to pressure from one vocal group or another
