My name is Amanda Huxted. I was born in Unity Saskatchewan. I have made Swift Current home for the past thirteen years, where I met my husband Darcy. We have been together for eleven wonderful years. We share two beautiful children – Kolby who is ten and Kailee who is four. I am a stay-at-home mother, and I homeschool my children. I like spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy fishing, going to Curves, and cooking.
The reason I am running in this provincial election is that we need to get our voices heard as GREENS
. I previously ran in the 2007 federal election as well. I want our children and our grandchildren to be able to live a clean, healthy life. We have the right to have a clean environment. Our soil, water and the air we breath, and the food we eat, need to be healthy in order to have healthy people on earth!
There are so many issues that are important to me as well. One issue that has to be eliminated in this day and age is poverty. I believe that no one needs be living in unreasonable conditions when billions are spent foolishly by governments. This needs to end! Everyone has the right to live a life with good food and shelter, and a liveable income.
I am a very trustworthy and honest person, and that is what makes a good politician. It’s time for politicians to be true role models.
