Bio

Bill Clary was born and raised in Leader Saskatchewan. At 20 he moved to the West Coast to attend college and spent 25 years living in Greater Vancouver regional district. While in Vancouver he spent several years working for BC Housing and 14 years working for the Vancouver Transit system as a transit operator. Bill became involved with an active community of individuals concerned about social issues including poverty, homelessness, healthcare and the environment. His work experiences provided the opportunity to interact with and learn from people directly impacted by these issues and was the catalyst for Bill to become politically active.

In 2005 Bill left his Job in Vancouver to move back to Leader to assist with the primary care of his father. He ran as a Green party candidate in the provincial election in 2007 and as a federal Green in the 2008 election. He served as an elected member of the Leader town council for a three year term and was awarded the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation volunteer of the year award in honour of his contribution to his community.

After his Father passed, Bill moved to Regina to return to a position that he had enjoyed in Vancouver and now is a Transit operator for the City of Regina. Bill recognizes that the political Status Quo has not provided a voice for many of us. He has found that the principles and values of the Green Party of Saskatchewan are consistent with his interest and commitment to building a true democracy and supporting sustainable communities, equity, and an empowered people. Overcoming the apathy that our current system has bred is a fundamental component of the Green party that invites each of us to claim our rightful place in this province. Coming together to protect and Honour the environment.
