Darryl Amey lives on the farm where he grew up at Radisson. He trained as a heavy equipment mechanic and worked in the trade in Canada, Australia and South Africa before returning to Radisson in the 70's to start his own repair business and run the family farm. The farm was certified organic and Darryl built a grain processing operation to turn the crops produced on the farm into consumer ready food products. These products were then marketed into the local food organic food system.

During this time Darryl was very active in the Organic and Sustainable agriculture movement. In 2007 the food processing business was sold to a farm family who have carried on the operation. Darryl continues to do some farming and mechanical work.

Darryl is active in the community with the Chamber of Commerce and the Agricultural Society. He is presently involved in the establishment of a waste management and recycling facility in Radisson. His main hobbies are teaching ballroom dancing and restoring vintage tractors.
