Regina, Saskatchewan, January 26 — Regina, Saskatchewan – The Green Party of Saskatchewan’s second contested nomination meeting in lead up to the next provincial election is set for 26 April 2014. The first contested nomination was held in Regina Lakeview this past Saturday. The contested vote that is coming up on April 26th is taking place in the Regina Elphinstone-Centre constituency. The two contestants in this race so far are:
- Sarah Risk, Educator, and
- Dianna Holigroski, Server and Prep Baker.
GPS Leader Victor Lau is very excited about this second contested nomination meeting, “Here we have two terrific women who want to carry our party’s banner in the heart of Regina. It’s a shame that only one of them can be the candidate in Regina Elphinstone-Centre.” Lau hopes that as the GPS continues to build toward the next provincial election, that more excellent candidates like Sarah and Dianna will come forward to run for the party. It is also worth noting that this nomination meeting coincides with the 32nd anniversary of the “Monday Night Massacre” in 1982, when the Devine PCs swept to power. The GPS has 2 out of 61 candidates ready to go for the next provincial election, those being Lau in Regina Douglas Park and Larry Neufeld in Regina Lakeview.
