Commenting guidelines

A couple quick notes regarding commenting:

Commenting is a newly-enabled feature on our site, so there may be some options that are changed as we discover what works best for our community. As of this posting (2009-03-13), there are two optional features in place:

  • Comments can be edited by the original author. Please use this feature sparingly to correct minor errors (typos, etc.) or to make simple clarifications, not to make substantial changes to the content of your comment.
  • Comments must be previewed at least once they are posted. Once you have previewed your comment, the "Save" button will appear. Consider it your own personal "chamber of sober second thought".

Thank you for your participation in our discussions here - we are very excited about taking this next step in participatory democracy, and we hope it will be a benefit to all.

Please direct any technical issues to webmaster@saskgreen.ca

TERMS OF USE

By participating in discussions on this site, you agree to uphold the principles of the Green Party of Saskatchewan.  (Click here to review GPS Principles.)

Please make your comments positive, constructive, and relevant to the resolution under discussion.  Address issues, not personalities.  Try to give reasons for whatever position you put forward.  If you disagree with other comments, post a new comment that states your own position.  If you feel it necessary to add direct criticism of earlier comments, keep it calmly objective, and present the reasons why you disagree.  Do not post a comment that simply restates your position from an earlier post, in order to have "the last word".

Comments that are damaging to the GPS, or are blatantly contrary to its principles may be removed by the site administrators, as may any personal attacks on other participants in this discussion.  Anyone repeatedly disregarding this policy may have his or her account suspended.
